400 babies....try 800 dogs! And FCAT!

Wow...thats all I can say. I love my dogs, I have two, but 8oo. You have to be crazy. I mean come on....why would you need that many. But, its good to hear that they were in good condition and healthy. Im just amazed...they must have given the dogs POWERTHIRST!!!!!!

But anyway....FCAT. The only word that will send a Floridian screaming. Even the teachers think that its the dumbest crap ever. My proctor (i guess thats what you would call them) went on a rant about how students in Florida couldnt win "Are you smarter then a 5th grader" because we didnt learn basic facts because its not on FCAT. Since its not on FCAT teachers don't have time to teach it. But I have to disagree. I say this because when she asked if anybody had ever heard "In the year 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue" all the IB kids raised there hands. How come we had heard it but not the students in general. Im pretty sure I learned that in 5th grade. I think students not knowing has to do with lack of class room control skills. Think about it, an if a class was not under control then the teacher would have to take longer to teach something; thus eliminating these "other" items. Instead of making teachers go to workshops on how to teach FCAT they should send them to classroom management classes.

On a lighter note, FCAT is done and so is the 3rd nine weeks. I'm so happy because tomorrow I start my last nine weeks in Pre-IB. Finally after 5 years.
